Made a music video in isolation with my partner Naeem for his new song “Simulation” featuring music legends Justin Vernon and Swamp Dogg! Premiered today on Pitchfork and Stereogum. We had a few remote collaborators who helped us style and produce it, but made the whole thing without any in-person crew, just the two of us in our house and at nearby outdoor areas, and I used some After Effects trickery to make stuff look less boring.
Directed and edited a new short documentary for The New York Times’ T Magazine! Interviewed Angela Bassett, Mary J. Blige, Halle Berry, Viola Davis, Lynn Whitfield, Kimberly Elise, and Taraji P. Henson on the set of Mickalene Thomas’s cover shoot.
So happy to finally premiere our sci-fi comedy pilot “The Pet Files” online, after its festival premiere at the 2019 Borscht Film Festival. We (Public Cinema Club and friends) wrote and directed this with our late friend Pipus Larsen in Philly and we had the best time making it. So many friends put their talent and sense of humor into this. Full credits are below the video on Vimeo. And thanks to Vimeo for the Staff Pick!
This was a first: shooting a music video for a computer generated pop star. Worked as DP and editor on Clare Gillen’s new music video for Miquela’s “Automatic” with the wonderful teams at Brud and Henri Collective.
Rubber Pencil Devil, the feature length art film I shot and edited for Alex Da Corte, is on display at the Venice Biennale and getting an amazing response!
